FAMILY NETWORK PARENT/CHILD CENTER OPENS FOR THE FALL
If you are the parent of a baby or young child and looking for a warm and welcoming place to meet others while your child enjoys stimulating, educational play, you are invited to to "drop in" for a free visit at the Family Network Parent/Child Center this fall! The center is located at 330 Laurel Avenue (lower level of Highland Park Presbyterian Church) and is open from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday mornings.
This unique not-for-profit program has served several generations of families on the North Shore since 1983, and continues to provide a nurturing "first step" for toddlers and young preschoolers who can enjoy enriching small group activities with mom or dad nearby. When children are comfortable with our professional staff, parents can move across the hallway for coffee, conversation, and monthly parent education programs. For parents and infants, there is a well-equipped "Baby & Me" Room where adults can relax, play with their babies, and learn from one another as well as from experienced staff members (who remember what it was like to be up with a fussy baby all night!).
On Thursdays, we offer a unique "Dual Language Morning" where bilingual staff provide activities in Spanish and English. Parents are also encouraged to share cultural and culinary traditions from their countries of origin.
